We all know and are aware of the shortage of inventory here in the West Michigan area. Now is the time to work on getting your home(s) ready for sale and for the upcoming spring market. In my opinion I believe we will have a great market but the home(s) that will be coming out will have to be priced right and ready to move. Yes the houses have appreciated and still are but there are very educated buyer’s out there who know what they want and are willing to pay for it. Several of my sellers are waiting for March 1st when they will place their home(s) in hope of getting the “early” buyers before the mad rush starts. Buyers are looking for houses that are ready to move in with minimal to no work in them.
I have less than 60 days to keep my sellers motivated and on track. Now is the time to de-clutter the house and get rid of anything that would hinder a sale and freshen up those rooms that may need to be painted. If you have hardwood floors get those polished and have the carpets cleaned to have that fresh smell. Prepare the home and have your agent preview it and give you hints on how to make it look it’s best. After 32 years selling real estate I enjoy the spring market the best. I believe homes look their best after a long winter season. I’m looking forward to having my best year yet.
